Finalists in 9th Innovation Challenge Announced
Six entrepreneurs advance to the final round of the annual event that awards the most innovative solutions with funding and a pilot partnership with a safety net healthcare organization.
Denver, CO – December 2, 2022 – Prime Health is proud to introduce the finalists in the 2022 Prime Health Innovation Challenge, the annual competition in its 9th year in Colorado, and the first-ever Prime Health Innovation Challenge in California. Finalists are the top 6 digital health innovators in each state, having advanced to the final round from a pool of three dozen contenders of leading health innovators. Winners will be chosen at the Challenge Final Events on Thursday, January 26, 2023, virtually at 9 AM Pacific Time in California and 4 PM Mountain Time in Colorado. At these unique events, finalists will pitch their solutions live to an audience of potential provider institutions and healthcare leaders. Hosts serve as judges at the final event, helping us determine the winners (aka who we should fund) by listening to the pitches and voting for the solutions they would actually be interested in trying out in a funded pilot. At the end of each event, a pool of $150,000 in highly coveted pilot funding is awarded to the top three companies in each state, provided by The Colorado Health Foundation in Colorado and the California Health Care Foundation in California, for a partnership with a safety net healthcare organization.

The Innovation Challenge has attracted national attention for its efficacy at engaging stakeholders in a collaborative, community, and consensus-building process across silos and industries. Our one-of-a-kind program identifies solutions with strong potential for sustainable and scalable success in local markets, strengthening and supporting startups and founders, implementing more than 48 digital health pilots in safety net healthcare environments, and awarding more than $1.5 million in funding.
This 6-month program advances healthcare through technological innovation, aiming to improve health equity, access, quality, and cost for underserved communities in Colorado and California. Top leaders and experts in health and innovation vet and validate companies, identify and elevate impactful solutions for health care, and drive innovation forward by fostering pilots with leading provider and community organizations developed and funded as part of the Challenge. Industry experts provide feedback and mentorship to digital health companies seeking to pilot their products with healthcare institutions.
